Basseterre, St. Kitts – The Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs has launched a 3-day Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) training for justice-sector professionals, delivered with technical support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Multi-Country Office. The workshop forms part of Government efforts to embed a results-based culture across the justice system and strengthen institutional performance.

The training, held in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), focuses on building practical, hands-on skills in results-based management, such as data-driven planning, case tracking, policy evaluation, and results-based decision-making.

Participants across the justice chain- including Crown Counsels, case managers, clerks and policy personnel- are equipped with practical tools and strategies to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. The approach goes beyond traditional reporting, encouraging participants to view their work through the lens of long-term impact, accountability, and citizen-focused service delivery.

This initiative is part of a broader justice sector enhancement programme rooted in the country’s National Development Planning Framework and supports the government’s commitment to key international declarations and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)- particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality),  SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The Ministry remains committed to strengthening institutional capacity and building a more transparent, inclusive, and effective justice system for all.
