The Attorney General holds a dual role within the governance structure of Saint Kitts and Nevis- serving not only as the principal legal advisor to the Government, but also as the Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs. While the Attorney General’s Office operates as a distinct entity, focused on legal counsel and representation, it functions within the broader framework of the Ministry of Justice & Legal Affairs.

The Ministry guides policy development to ensure that justice processes are fair, accessible, and aligned with national development priorities.
The superior court of record, handling major civil and criminal cases & interpreting constitutional matters.
Protects the rights of creators and innovators by registering trademarks, patents, & other intellectual property.
Presides over summary matters, minor offenses, & preliminary inquiries.
Provides free or subsidized legal services to individuals who are unable to afford private legal representation.
Serves as an independent and impartial authority that investigates complaints from the public.
Maintains official records of land ownership and transactions to secure property rights & development.
Reviews, modernizes, and recommends updates to existing laws.
